A LITTE SHOPPING AND THE BEACH

Yesterday sis and I went out and did a little shopping, went to Viera. Went over to The Avenue,  stopped at Michaels. Then went over to the WM plaza and stopped at Holly Lobby and Ross’s. I got a couple tops and a table cloth at Ross’s. Took us all day for 3 stores, we would have to spend a week or more to visit every store there. Also had lunch at Chic F. Got this hanging holder with 35 pockets on each side to store things. I will be using it for my art/craft items that I want to travel with me in the rig. In fact it is working so good I am going back and get another one. Got this at Ross’s while shopping in Viera.
A couple  of sis visiting days we went to the beach.
This is a pic from the first day we went. It was hazy and over cast most of the day, then in late afternoon the sun came out a bit, and the color of the ocean was unbelievable, bright aqua, in front with dark blue the further out you went….click on the pic to see the color better…at times like this I wish I had a good camera.

And here is Maggie lying on her new beach matt. Enjoying the waves and sea gulls and other birds that she can not catch, much to her dismay.
We took the rig so we could take breaks, here is what we had for lunch. Pretty healthy I would say …better than McD’s that is right across the road.
The main reason for going to the beach was to get some shell for sister Nancy. There were a ton of shells that day so she had a ball gathering. I have not yet taken any pic’s of the shells. We are having a good time visiting here in Florida, everyday we check the weather in PA… and compare lol….

AT THE FLEA MARKET

Seen this guy at the flea market on Sunday. Made of rusty looking wire. Never know what kind of gator you might run into living in Florida.
I found that eating with plastic utensils is not the greatest. I have reg. silver ware in PA…so don’t want to spend a lot of $$ on more. So got these cuties at the flea. The were only 25  cents each, plastic pink handles. This is all I got, I will get mine to put int the rig when I  go back to PA this summer.

And here we have Christmas decorating Florida style! Seen these on our morning walks.
Went shopping this am. needed some food supplies and meds. Working on getting ready for my sister to come on Friday and getting ready for the GTG. I still cant figure out what to do about food for any pot lucks there might be. I don’t think I am ready to do real cooking in the rig yet. I don’t want a failure then have nothing to take!!
I found out my furnace works great! This am it was something like 48. When I went out to the rig about 7:30 when I opened the door a blast of warm cozy air hit me. The furnace was running. I have left my propane on in case on my day trips I wanted to use the stove top. I guess the furnace came on auto when the temp dipped down. I t was pretty quiet  not noisy at all. My DD and SIL had a TT that had a very noisy furnace.

A man stumbles across a porthole to the past, and inlist the help of another to go back in time and try and change history by stopping the assassination of JFK. There is a lot more involved, other side story’s of the main person involved in his life, and how he handles going back in time. This is not like other King’s book that are scary and sometimes very nasty.I stopped reading King because of how nasty they got . I am pretty sure anyone of you would like it….I would share it but it is my DD’s book and she wants it back. It took awhile to read has over 800 pages. I tried not to read it fast, as it was so good I did not want it to end. Now that I am finished I feel kind of lost lol that’s all for now thanks for looking and come back soon.

CAMPGROUND SECOND DAY

Here is the ranger station at the Wickham Park campground. It in the area of the main park as you come in the main gate. Very helpful and nice rangers. They take care of the main park as well as the campground.
Here is a pic of MySweetDream with her new flamingo and palm tree lights hanging. Looking around at other campers I see that more outside decorating is needed.
When I was packing up getting ready to leave, dad came around with this battery Coleman Lateran. Ask if I wanted it he said someone gave it to him and he never used it. So I said yes I’ll take it! Good for outside or boon docking.
Slept pretty good  …got up early, normal time went for our walk…fix breakfast, got shower. Now about the shower…it was a cold one…we did not get the propane done the first day.Oh also got the TV on. Found the booster switch after much hunting, under a cabinet by the outside door.Not at all near the TV. So turned on the TV ..finally got it figured out..then later turned it on …nothing.. the remote would not work…so later went over to MM site to see if she had some batteries so I could check see if that was the problem. Was not. So I kept switching the batteries out…and all of a sudden it started to work…has been ok since.I got great reception with just my antenna. Visited back and forth with MM, took a couple walks, put up my cool flamingo and palm tree lights. Then later MM came over and we turned on the propane we lit the stove, and turned on hot water heater. Everything works good. Fixed dinner a couple sliders cooked with my new mini elec. frying pan (yard sale $5 was new) and a salad. Did dishes with my nice hot water! Was excited when it got dark so I could turn on my lights! Looking good! I guess that will be enough for today so thanks for looking and come back soon

CAMP GROUND & FIRST DAY

I ran around getting some last min. things before going over to the park.….in the end I forgot Maggie food.Did not need the level blocks I went to Home Depot last min. to get. This poor young man, had to cut 2 boards 2x10’s before got what I wanted…I think he was new….
Wickham Park camp ground we got there about noon. Check in is at 2 but no one was in my site so they let me come early. So got there, two sites down from MissMermaid…got backed in not to hard, nice big spaces. I will post more about the camp ground its self later.
First did the water hook up, the the sewer much easier than I was thinking about it. Got some organizing done inside. Thinking this will be ok..worried for nothing. Did awning and some chairs set up got the 2 ton picnic table moved…all this with the help of MissMermiad and friend…The picnic table is new and heavy! Had ham & cheese sandwich,fruit for lunch. Sat around visiting with MM. Maggie and Harley are not the best of friends, but they tolerate each other so it will be ok…First night sleeping in rig bed with 4 in. of memory foam… nice I could not post on a day to day bases because of no GB..so now its hard for me to remember everything. ODDS AND ENDS & HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy New Year,,.hope you had a good time last night! I was watching the TV parties. I did not watch any balls, oranges, or beach balls drop. Fell asleep. This is going to be a better year! Being positive this year! The above pic is what I bought at Home Depot yesterday. I wanted to get a small heater for those cool nights we might have at the end of Jan.at the GTG. I don’t want to use the furnace in the rig …to much propane and I can use this heater other places. So I hope it does the job. Then I got these two tool bags a large one and a small one. Two for $14 I thought it was a good deal.
Put the small type tools in the smaller of the two, screw drivers, pliers, hammer etc., etc., All fit nicely so far. Might have to add some things as I go along.Even got staple gun, and duct tape in there.
Put my new drill/screw driver and charger in the other one. A couple sets of drill bits and screw driver bits. These two bags  will fit nicely in the bay area. I only have one storage bay, a big one in back the width of the rig.
Maggie found a nice cozy spot when we were traveling to Sanibel the other day. I was buckled in the other side of the table. It is just a lap seat belt …… Today I was packing up a few things in the rig. I am finding out there is not enough storage space.
Not sure what I will figure out about this. Maybe get some ideas from some others. Want to do some more packing and organizing today. MY dd said that I should have some stuff in there so that anytime I wanted to make a trip I would not have to pack. Have everything ready to go. So I put bathroom things in there today. Towels, wash clothes, extra tooth brush/paste etc., etc.  Well that’s it for now thanks for looking and come back soon

SIGHTINGS…

At the home park yesterday we had a great sighting ! A manatee mom and baby! Finally something exciting to blog about.
It took me forever to get these pic’s. You can not see them both in either of these pic’s but they are there. They were eating the leaves off this tree that was hanging down in the water.This is the second time I have seen these two, the first time they were playing around out further and I could not get any pic’s as they were only showing their backs. I watched them for about 30 min then they wondered off. It really worries me now that I know they are there and the boats that don’t follow the rules. Your are only suppose to have your boat motor on idle when in this part of the intercostal water way. And believe me not everyone follows those rules.
And then at the beach the other day I saw this little fellow. Not so little as hermit crabs go. He had a beautiful large beach house. lol. He was pretty big…as was his house. It was hard to get him out of it for a pic.
Had a bad day today but getting over it…I wonder sometimes how much I should give on this blog…the bad with the good???

GEOCACHE & THE BEACH

We went looking for yard sales and geocaches on Sat. Few yard sales were found, but we ran into a craft show in Cocoa Beach. Check that at http://redapplejunction.blogspot.com/ my other blog. This is the one I looked for at cocoa Beach. It was in a neat park that had a walking nature trail in it also. Alot of caches in this area have to do with the space program, remember I dream of Jeannie ? This is one that is named after that show.

This is a pic of how busy the beach is in a tourist area. Our beaches in Melbourne are not that busy, at least I have never seen them like this. I should have walked down to see how they keep those tents from blowing away it is always breezy at the beach.

This guy was setting up for a 20th anniversary party. It was located on one of the pavilions on the board walk that is part of the access to the beach. It was really windy and he was not happy. I seen more at the park where the geocache was and we were able to walk the trail, so I will post about the next. Had fun and Maggie was able to go along in her buggy.

I do not like this blogger at all!!! I have know idea what the blog is going to look like when posted, it seems that blogger put the pic's and text where ever. So I guess I will stop caring what my blog looks like as long as you can see pic's and words.

My trip as been postponed for a few days. No biggie, just need to hang around and help dad out with a few things. I will be leaving a few days later is  all. But let me tell ya I am ready to head north for the summer. And speaking of that, it seems like I will not selling my house and be moving to Florida after all. I will be a snowbird!! That will be the best of both worlds I think! As long as things work out ok this will be what I am going to be doing. All for now thanks for looking and come back soon

MADE IT!

GOT THIS......

HERE........WELCOME CENTER We are now in Florida. Left late on Thurs. day morning about 8:30 hit rain as soon as we got on I-95. We were almost at the GA-FL border. So when we got to the stopped to wait out the rain.

Got our free cup of OJ and walked Maggie around and were on our way again. No sooner on 95 and it was raining. I did that all morning, sometimes I had to pull off could not see. So much for stopping along the way to take a look at Florida. Finally I go on US 1 so I could pull of anywhere and not wait till I came to an exit. So it took me all day to get to Melbourne.

I have had a few health issues so that's the delay in posting. I got another cold and was not feeling the best. Also my feet have been bothering me alot this summer and came to a head this last week while traveling. I had to find a Doctor and lucky I got in on Friday. Got a shot in the heel and it is now getting much better. Went to a festival down in old town yesterday with Pearl, I will post about that on my other blog. http://redapplejunction.blogspot.com/ Today I scrubbed the cealing in the FL room so I can get my art/craft set up. Foot did not like the ladder so now I will rest it the rest of the day. It was so bad I could hardly walk. I have some caches we found along the way and will post about those this week. WEATHER IN MELBOURNE FL. Temp 80 today, sun with some clouds, beautiful day!

Yesterday we were up early for our walk to the park and was there for the sun rise. This time change has disrupted our morning routine LOL, when the sun starts coming up earlier it will go back to normal. Any way Seen the beautiful sun rise, and birds galore. They seem to be more wild life there earlier in the morning. Along with early fishermen. Got a great shot of a bird on a piling. Not sure what kind,usually see all kinds of interesting things when I walk there, but keep forgetting my camera. Like the other day the water was still no wind and there was a dolphin going along close to the shore, I could have got a great shot because he was going very slow and I would have had time to snap a few while he was out of the water.

The cache of the day was located along US-1 on a power pole. You know some times they have a piece of conduit run up the side of the pole. Well this cache was attached to a fishing line to the cache so you can pull it out. That's the easy part. Getting it back in is the problem. I have a hook that is about 2ft. long and I got it back in with that. My trusty tool. Sometimes it's a thinking game trying to figure out how to do something and what you have to do it with. Fun!

CACHE, YARD SALE, BUSY WEEKEND

MICRO CACHE WEATHER: Rainy and storms last two days. Sat and Sun were great, but hot 87.

Well I was all ready by 7am on Sat morning. Expecting the crush like the last two yrs. But it never happened. I think it was because there were sooooo many yard sales for this weekend. On a busy weekend there would be normally 10 - 12 sales advertised in the local paper. This weekend there were 50 advertised! On Sun afternoon I was talking to a customer and telling her about this and she said, hey that was only half of them, there were so many not advertised she said they were all over the place. I did not make 1/10 th of what I should have. That means I have to work extra hard and do more sales and flea markets. I did sell a lot but they wanted it for practically nothing so the dollars did not add up fast. It was a lot of work, for very little $$ this time. Enough complaining on to the caching.

I did not do any caching this week or weekend, so here is one we found last weekend. It a micro on a stop sign. In the pic you can see how small it is beside my red ink pen. It was pretty obvious where it was as there was noting around but the stop sign. Found it really easy.

I got the stain/sealer for the front porch but with all the rain can not get it on. And it is suppose to rain most of the week, so I will be working on the inside of house. I think I will gather up and pack in totes everything that I think I want to take with me, get that out of the way and start tagging everything else for the tag sale. I still have all the bedrooms to paint, and finish up the bath tub repair, and flooring. Maybe Maggie and I will take a day off and do some caching this week, even if it's in the rain. We need a break!
