WHAT'S GOING ON

Friday and Sat. we  went here for our breakfast picnic. This is a really nice park here in Melbourne. 300 + acres. Also has a campgrounds.

We parked here under this live oak tree. I was sitting reading Maggie was lying on the bed when a acorn dropped on the roof right above Maggie. lol she jumped straight up and went crazy trying to find out where the acorn went, she was sure it was in the van somewhere.
There is a ton of stuff to do in this park. Here is one of the many, many trails you can hike on. There is also many events that are held in the park.

This was Maggie's first trip here and she could not keep her nose of the ground. To many new smells and dogie smells, tons of dogs are walked here and they do have a dog park. Right now I will not be taking her there, as she does not like large dogs. And it is an off leash dog park. They make me nervous also since we have been attacked 3 times by large dogs.
Went to yard sales and found nothing, waste of gas. Spent all Sat. afternoon cooking, so I don't have to cook all week. Put in freezer, my version of fast food. Cheaper and healthier. I have been reading a RV forum for some time. So felt it was time to join in on it. They are having a get together in Florida the end of Jan. Well since chatting with these very nice ladies I decided to join in on the fun. So reserved a spot for a couple days.http://www.womenrv.com/forum/ The GTG will be at Hillsborough River State Park here in FL. It is just north of Tampa. Almost straight across the state from me. To tell you the truth, living here is pretty lonely, not knowing anyone, so its about time I get out and about. There are several Florida peeps going. And a lot of snowbirds will be there. I am pretty excited about it, wish it was not 4 months away. I have been getting MzSavana ready and will show you what I have got done so far next post.
As soon as it cools down here I am going to take a couple over night camping trips to get the kinks worked and to know what I will need to take with me.
Well that's it for now thanks for looking and come back soon

YESTERDAY & A CACHE

Yesterday on our breakfast picnic , we saw this interesting van. It said severe weather on the side, with Chanel 13 news. Well I looked out over the water where the camera was pointing seen no bad weather.......

So I just had to find out what was going on , what they were looking for.....I walked around the van and found this nice young man! John ! Ask what he was looking for, he said nothing, that they did early news looking at the sun rise. I talked to him for a bit, then wished him a good day and went back to my business. That encounter made for a very nice start to my day. HI JOHN...if you checked out my blog. :)

Late I had to some other banking business (Maggie had to stay at home) so I zipped by the beach.

It did not look like high waves but the noise was high! Tide looked high and I did not see any shells. I just wish it was not so hot. I would spend more time at the beach and outside.

This is a geocache I found awhile back here in Melbourne. It is called a bison tube and you unscrew it, pull out the log and sign it. Easy find. I can't remember the last time I went caching way before summer. I am still working on the craft room. I want to do some camping but still to hot. I cant run my van day and night with the A/C running so I will have to wait for cooler weather. There is not much going on here right now, if something exciting should come up I will up date this post.

HAPPENINGS

We continue on with our picnic breakfast here in Florida. This is at our local park. Ballard Park. This was our view this morning. If you click on the pic you can see the larger view, and behind the house on the left (yellow in color) dad's house is right behind it. Dad use to have that view before they built about 6 houses along that strip of land.

Though I would throw this pic of Maggie Girl in today. While I was home in PA I was looking on my old desk top puter trying to figure out how to get the pic's I  have on there on to my new laptop. LOL look at those ears she was only 8 weeks on in this pic, I had just got back from meeting my dd to pick her up. They got her for me and had to keep her a couple weeks before we could get together. What a sweetie she was (and is). She had finally grew into her ears. !!! Don't mind the pic as I took it while looking on the old puter. I had her on the bed... had to keep pillows around her she was bouncing all over the place. Look at that paw up begging ....what a sweet little girl.
I am working on getting things organized. Also yesterday I scrubbed all the out side lawn chairs, they had mold and mildew all over yuck...what a mess. Used that Clorox spray and wow new chairs. Trying to get my art/craft room fixed up. That will take several days,,,maybe weeks. Maggie and I took a day trip to Vero Beach the other day.No pic's this time, did go to a couple stores and had lunch in parking lot. I don't have my mojo back yet, but will sometime soon I am sure. Will take time is all.
Tried to see the shuttle Endeavor fly by this morning, but was to cloudy I heard the big jet carrying it but could not see it. So will watch it on the news at noon.

Maggie grew in to her ears! And turned out to be a beautiful show dog that she was born to be.
But her pink nose kept her out of the ring! She still has some pink above her nose that turns blood red when she gets excited.
I need to post more often or start writing things down because I have forgot alot that I have been doing (lol guess it must have been exciting) Oh well I will try and do better.
All for now thanks for looking and come back soon.

HAD A BAD MORING ....... :(

This happened yesterday morning. Looks like it will be a total loss do to the age of the truck. 2001 Now I have to look for a van. This puts my trip to PA off a little while...  No one got hurt.

Thought I would show you my new way of collecting shells. I use this sand crab scoop. I got it at a rummage sale for 2.00. I found a few at yard sales for 25.00. They have them at WM for about the same. They use them for getting the sand crabs on the beach, used as bait. I just scoop up the shells and take them over to the waves and that washes the sand out of them. So much easier than bending over and picking them up. Well that's it for now thanks for looking and come back soon.

FLORIDA STUFF

While out and about last week we saw these Sandhill Crane looks like a mama, papa and baby. These cranes are all over the place around central Florida. These are crossing a major six lane highway. A few weeks ago not far from dad's a baby crane got hit by a car and killed. The mama and papa would not leave the baby. They kept walking over to it and standing there. Some one moved to the side of the road and it was several hrs before the highway dept. came and removed it and mama and papa  stayed right there with it all that time. It was so  sad.

Here is a geo cach we found awhile ago. It is a fake stone with a slide out bottom where the cache is hid. Took a little while to find. But it was fun.

I have been meaning to do this ever since I came to Florida. And that is take pictures of all the beautiful and colorful buildings. The pink one looks like a fun beach motel. Found it up in Cocoa.
This is a famous , I guess you would call it a "tourist trap store". Ron Jon. If you travel down I-95 you will see advertisement for hundreds of miles. Way long before you come to it in Florida. I was stopped at a red light and this is only a small sections of the whole complex. I have never been in  it but, it's on my to do list next fall.

WEATHER IN MELBOURNE FLORIDA: Hot hot hot and muggy. I am very glad I will not be here at summer. It will get even more muggy and hotter. Don't see how peeps live here at that time of the year. I guess you don't go out side much and that would not be good for me,  because I am an out doors girl. Went to a few yard sales yesterday a bunch of duds. Have a couple more totes to put in the truck and then last min. things and I am good to go. I hope to leave on the 7th or 8th of June. Cant wait to get going. I also went looking for dress for the wedding,,,,,ugh....that's about all I can say. Even tho I have lost weight I still look so fat in all the dresses I tried on. Daughter said wait till I get there and she would help me look. She has to get hers yet.

Well all for now thanks for looking and come back soon.

GEOCACHE & THE BEACH

We went looking for yard sales and geocaches on Sat. Few yard sales were found, but we ran into a craft show in Cocoa Beach. Check that at http://redapplejunction.blogspot.com/ my other blog. This is the one I looked for at cocoa Beach. It was in a neat park that had a walking nature trail in it also. Alot of caches in this area have to do with the space program, remember I dream of Jeannie ? This is one that is named after that show.

A pic of the cache below.
This is a pic of how busy the beach is in a tourist area. Our beaches in Melbourne are not that busy, at least I have never seen them like this. I should have walked down to see how they keep those tents from blowing away it is always breezy at the beach.

This guy was setting up for a 20th anniversary party. It was located on one of the pavilions on the board walk that is part of the access to the beach. It was really windy and he was not happy. I seen more at the park where the geocache was and we were able to walk the trail, so I will post about the next. Had fun and Maggie was able to go along in her buggy.

I do not like this blogger at all!!! I have know idea what the blog is going to look like when posted, it seems that blogger put the pic's and text where ever. So I guess I will stop caring what my blog looks like as long as you can see pic's and words.

My trip as been postponed for a few days. No biggie, just need to hang around and help dad out with a few things. I will be leaving a few days later is  all. But let me tell ya I am ready to head north for the summer. And speaking of that, it seems like I will not selling my house and be moving to Florida after all. I will be a snowbird!! That will be the best of both worlds I think! As long as things work out ok this will be what I am going to be doing. All for now thanks for looking and come back soon

NOT MUCH GOING ON & THE BEACH

Got up Christmas morning went to the beach for sun rise. Daughter and son in law and the fur babies. Got this pic of some pelicans fishing for breakfast. It was cloudy that day and was hard to get sunrise. Our county does not allow dogs on the beach. (but they are making one to open in Feb.) So we to the dog stroller. Small dogs but it is a small stroller so they were a little tight in there. Maggie does not like pic taking and always turns her head away. Daughters dog Joey is front and center. I think I will be getting one of these in the next few months, when I was at the mall the other day I saw a woman there in the mall with dog in stroller. She said they don't mind.
WEATHER IN MELBOURNE FLORIDA : Brrrrrrrrrr cold, 35 this morning. Blue sky and sunny but cold. 51 now at 12:45 pm. Family does not like pic's taken so no more pic's :( We had a good time went to the beach alot. Looking for shells and drift wood for her to paint on. We got alot. Dad put a tent on the tomato's last nite, and will tonite but then it is suppose to get warmer. He doesn't think we will get another cold snap. My feet are much better, taking walk in the mornings about 5 min each way, and can walk around house with little pain. I hope this will post, I did one yesterday on my other blog and this morning it was gone. I went back in and clicked on it to publish a couple more times, so if ever does show up it might be there 3 times lol. All for now thanks for looking and come back soon.

DIGGIN, FLOATING CLASS C & A CACHE

I had to turn my water off before I left. I was leaving in Sept. so I started the process in July. Because the shut of was cemented the bottom of my drive way and I knew this would be a problem. To make a very long story short the water Co. dropped the ball and the pic you see below was the day before I was to leave. They finally got it done, but my drive way is not finished. They just put gravel in it and will cement it again when I get there next summer. They said they would come up and do it some time this fall or next spring, I said, no you will wait till I get back. After all that went on, I do not trust them to do the job right. I was on my way to the beach the other day and saw this on the river while crossing the causeway. A barge with a class C motor home on it. It was just sitting there pretty close to the causeway. When I came back there was a tug boat trying to move it back to where ever it belongs. I think it got loose and driffed there. I wonder why the Class C was on it in the first place? This was a cache I found on the way down here. Was a real anchor very big. Was a key magnet so was easy, but me, I made it hard. lol. But I did finally find it.
I am still dealing with my feet. I go to the doctor tomorrow will see what he has to say. They are better but I cant do normal things like my walking exercise or even go shopping. Have not been doing much went to the beach a couple times. We had that bad storm last weekend and are suppose to have another one today and tomorrow, but it is not as bad as they thought. Here its just cloudy gray and misting rain. Been working on some art swaps I joined you can check that out on my other blog http://redapplejunction.blogspot.com Dad had some blossoms on his tomato's but I think that wind got them last weekend. Did not break any plants so they should be ok. I want to have a yard sale as soon as I can walk and be on my feet for any length of time. All for now thanks for looking and come back soon

CACHE, FISING, RAINY SUNDAY

NICE VIEW HIDING CACHE
THE CACHE WEATHER:Temp 80 , cloudy and rain on and off.
Maggie the geo-dog, and I went out early this morning to get some caches. First we went to a couple at a swimming beach at the Shenango Damn. It was great no one around except on fisherman around the corner from the beach area. I don't know if it was to early or the clouds that put the Mrs. Carmin - Geea in a "mood" or what, because she didn't know her left from her right. But after some time and geo-sense kicking in we found it. We watched as the fisherman hooked and landed a nice size fish. We found a total of 3 this morning, more about them another time. I have to save some for the times I don't go caching.
Son made good progress on the garage this week, its looking good , he complains because its not perfect, I keep reminding him what he had to work with, and considering that, it looks great! I will have before and after pic's when its done.
We tried a little fishing and had no luck, and lost a lure to boot. Then the rains came and we left for home. Guess that's all for now
Happy Caching
