FIRST DAY ON THE ROAD…

After gassing up and pulling out of  Wal-Mart at 9:30am

This was our second stop…we stopped at a rest stop for lunch…and a walk…no pic’s this Camping World is in Jacksonville….saw the one for St. Augustine but went right by it…was not sure I was going to stop here..but I did it…glad I did…

This was the only thing I bought …I seen one that Shoos had and knew I wanted one and did not want to wait on getting it…mail to slow to order …I wanted it now!!!

We did make it to Fernandina Beach….

Parked at this public lot …but could not over night there…I had stopped at a WM and ask about parking there…ok for that…so then we went to the beach…

Lunch and supper….

My version of nachos and cheese, chipped ham and baby swiss sammy, and fresh fruit…also a glass of water…

I was worried about ….

tooling around these places with this big to me rig….it almost stopped me from doing anything but driving down I-95…so glad I did now I feel more able to maneuver it on not so wide roads and it helped that it was a week day and not a lot of traffic…Now we are parked at WM….being nervous about my first boon docking… hope I can sleep…going to get up early and go over to the beach again…shelling…early meaning day break…Maggie has not eaten all day…hope she gets in the groove of this traveling soon…Well that’s it for now going to go look at my new book…thanks for looking and come back soon…

DAY TRIP & A VISIT

This was my spot while visiting Soos and Dell….
Went over to the park so I could visit for the day with Soos and Dell…They were out and about for awhile…so I waited around taking Maggie for a walk….It is nice that this campground lets you come , park and spend the day with friends with no charge!

They soon showed up …..
We decided that we would find one of the trails and take the dogs for a walk….Found this one below Soos and Dell reading the signs..

The trail was hard packed sand…
We seen a side trial off into the woods…at least what I call Florida woods…the bush might be a better word.There goes Soos, Dell and the dogs…

 When you walk in the woods/bush here in Florida…you see some beautiful and interesting foliage ….

Arson fire results….
Another thing we saw was these charred remains from an arson fire…with new growth no less…how wonderful nature is ….this arson fire in the park was in 2011 I believe…

Packing….
I did a lot of cleaning and packing up today…had a lot of cleaning after camping for the last 4 days…we had a great time with only the three of us….even tho it rained most of the time…we would sit out under awnings keeping out of the rain but still having a good time…big day tomorrow so will go for now…thanks for looking and come back soon

WHAT A DAY…..

To day was the big beach day….
Today was to be the big beach day after all the bad weather, storms, rain, wind…high waves today…

Well we did finally make it to the beach…here is Soos and Dell….

But the story behind getting to the beach involves this picnic table…not Molly…the table tried to follow us out of the campground …..I think maybe Nan might know something about this…..lol

In the process of trying to hitch a ride to the beach it made this big dent in the big red truck…Soos’s truck to be exact…..witch did not help her blood pressure…

The rest of the story……
After we got ready for the beach…that being a big job takeing the 3 dogs with us…moving around crates etc so all dogs and people had room…we pulled out and that’s when the table tried to hitch a ride…well to make a very long day and story short …dogs stayed home…people went to Ford dealer..got idea how much repair would me  for big dent….almost a new red truck was purchased …..(did not happen) we people did end up at the beach….then went out to Chinese buffet and stuffed ourselves…That’s the story and I am sticking to it…thanks for looking and come back soon….blessings G&M

AFTER THE RAIN…..

A soggy start to the day….

This is what we started our walk with this morning …a lade that came over night …our own private lake…..Maggie was not excited about it…she hates water…

But never fear….

We braved the weather and had a pot luck breakfast…I made home made butter milk pan cakes…mmmmm good and Dell brought along some bacon…Here is Soos and Dell chowing down…

I forgot to bring along some syrup…so I made some by boiling down some brown sugar and water until thick….

On our walk this morning we found mushrooms that were splitting they took on so much water…

A day behind….

I am posting a day behind on my blog…so all this happened on Thurs. I am going to stay an extra day so will leave on Sat….but still will be back at the campground during the day…..Most of today Thurs. we sat around camp, enjoying , yaking , eating, etc…because we never knew when it was going to storm…If it is nice tomorrow we will be going to the beach, I will show them around Melbourne a little…despite the rain we are still having a great time..We are suppose to have thunder storms all night to night…(again)…Maggie is getting along fine with Soos’s dogs Molly and Dinah..so all is great…at the mini GTG….And we are exchanging stories and ideas and learning a lot…from one another's experiences.  All for now we had a big day and I will post about it tomorrow..thanks for looking and come back soon…

CAMPING IN THE RAIN…..

Well what can I say …..

That’s about it…what can you say about rain…and I mean long lasting rain….day and night…

Camp sites…..

It rained all afternoon yesterday and all night until about 7:30 am..I had ponds at both ends of my RV….everything was wet wet , wet…had to sweep off the water on the table with a broom…

This was Dells spot and she did not have the water I did…

Soos didn’t have to worry about watering here flowers she brought along…

So we had a little pot luck last night for dinner, fried chicken, potatoe salad, corn on the cob, brownies and cookies…not bad for just the 3 of us….So far not much we can do because of rain…so I will leave it at this and post more later…thanks for looking and come back soon

WICKHAM MINI GTG…

Here is Soos getting set up in her spot…she had just a slight problem getting level…but it worked out…

This will be my site….
In the pic below is the spot I  will set up in tomorrow…I will go over early to start having some camping fun…if there is no one in the spot you can go in early…the normal time is noon…I can’t wait for the morning…My site is across from Soos and Dell.

Dell pulled in around 4pm and got her self set up beside Soos...this is a short post tonight....so thanks for looking and come back soon

MY DAY SAT……

On sat I want to get my spot at the home park so took the RV down at 6 :30 there were already 5or 6 boaters there…I left it there Maggie and I took our morning walk…went back to dads and got ready to spend the day at the park..there were 3 yard sales in the hood this morning so I walked around the hood again and took in some sales…it got dark out…so I thought I should hold off walking down to the park…and I was right now it is pouring cats & dogs…So made it there about 1/2 hr. later

About blogger again….it looks like we all might have to join the Google + rather we want to or not if we want to continue on with blogger…so I might wait to the last min,. to join…one other thing ..it seems like people have problems loading pic on blogger sometimes…I wonder if you would use Live Writer you might not have that problem…so far for me I have not had it…I use Live Writer Not to worry Gypsy I check your blog daily…and about another 20 or so blogs!! I miss it when you are not blogging…

So we went back to the home park and spent the rest of the day just hanging around and not one thing of interest happened. There were some people out and about , picnicking and boating…it did rain off and on all day so that is  probably why not much going on…we sat out side and I read and Maggie sniffed and growled…In comparison my days are not as exciting and eventful as most of my forum and blogger friends….  That’s it for now thanks for looking and come back soon.
