Last week …or longer..

I noticed these…

leaves that are changing ….it was a little early to have this much color I thought…but what do I know…they are pretty and I am glad I get to see some fall color..I do miss that in Florida…

And one day….

Nan and I went out and about…since her and I share some of the same hobbies ie..crafty stuff…I took her to a local craft store…Pat Catan’s …it is a chain in north east Ohio and north west PA…this store is located in Hermitage Pa…I think that is the best store they have..in pic below I am standing in the middle of the store looking right ….if I turn left it is the same length big big store…all most any crafty thing you might need…for about 9 mo. in 2006 I worked here…I loved it…

and here is our girl Nan…trying what to look at next….lol…too much to see..we spent a long time in this store…and she and I both found a few things a  we could not live with out…

And we have Liz & Thistle leaving us to move on further down the road toward her trip to Ireland …not in RV of course…she is leaving on that trip at the end of Aug….have fun Liz  & Tina…

So that left….

Nan and I to have some fun while she waits for her car repair….Nan’s big brown class A and my class C …all that is left…as Sharon had left the day before Liz….

And the rest of the story…

Nan and I are doing more laid back things because of her fall when chasing her car some healing needs to be done…and I will have more on those activities in future post…I am way behind …I went on Sunday and spend until yesterday at the CG again..today I am getting my sisters car and we are going on a search for sweet corn…Nan wants to freeze some …..

In the pic of the day…below is Maggie  a fav. place to nap…her little bed in the sunshine…coming in the window…well I have come to the fact that I need a doggie in my life…not to replace my sweet girl but to add to our family which she will always be a part of…I have tentatively looked at all kinds of dogs & puppies …rescue and new puppies..I even held a week old Yorkie …and now I know I want another black & white Papillon puppy…so I am on the look out for one….I am starting now even tho I am still morning and cry after Maggie each and every day ..because it is not going to be an easy find…

A WALK…BLUE MOON…& A BIGFOOT…

At dusk on the night of the blue moon…..

We took a walk to see if we could catch the moon coming up over the lake…Left to right Liz..Thistle…Li’l Rascal…O’Sharon and Mr. Doodles….was a nice walk but skeeters were out…the sun looks bright but it was getting close to sun down….here we are headed to the boat ramp at the day use area…

We walked over to the gazebo to watch for the big blue moon…gazebo is situated on the top of a hill with boat ramp below…

Well the since of direction was at a loss on all of us that night because we did not see the blue moon rise over the lake…I have know idea what we were thinking…but I did get this pic while walking along…not near the lake but walking to our loop…it looks like there is a lot of blue sky but that is the way my phone took the pic..it was not at all that light out very dusk…but I like the shot anyway…my phone takes good pic that time of day…but not at night…

And then there was this sighting…again it was really dusk when this pic was taken…we happened to look up a side road and there he was Bigfoot….??? so yes or no…when we later walked that way it was dark and we could not see him…had he just passed thru???…. well that’s my story and I am sticking to it..

Still doing laundry (bedding) then I will be done with that chore for awhile…will pick up Nan at the campground in the morning and see what kind of fun we can find to do…might be something for a post…I might be able to squeeze out another about camping…anyway thanks for looking and come back soon…blessings to all G&M

Shenago first post….

Well started off…..

As usual either at a WM or a gas station…but one little thing was missing…that sweet little face hanging out the widow…excited to be going “camping”…how will I ever get over this….

So moving on …went to the campground after doc appt. and all ….Liz & Nan beat me there…they were just getting ready to take Nan’s car to the repair shop…so I waited at the CG for Other Sharon to come on in…she will here after be known as O”Sharon as we have a few Sharon’s on our forum…they change up their names a little so we can tell them apart when they post … below is my site …we were lucky and found 4 all at the same area beside each other…even got to use my awning…the sites in this loop… New Duck Loop…are gravel with grass & trees on all sides and pretty level…but not really very private…but at this point in my life I was happy to be here people and all…I like some of the other loops better…

When O’Sharon got there…she did a quick set up and we took her pups for  a walk…Mr. Doodle on the right and Li’l Rascal on the left they are Labrodoodles…Soon after Liz & Nan returned and  the rest of the evening we sat around and chatted…O’Sharon is a newbe to the forum and this was the first we all had a chance to meet…she is from central PA…and of course she fits right in with us old lady RV’ers….pups below looking up the side road wondering what is up there….

Next day we took Thistle Liz’s pup and Spring one of Nan’s pups to PetCo to get groomed…and a WM stop…and of course we went out for lunch…Golden Corral ….took this pic of close tree and the ones across the lake…they sure do look like the beginnings off fall …the have that brownish look before they break into full fall bloom with the beautiful colors…way to early to look like this….still a lot of green tho…

This was a laid back relaxing GTG…Liz & Nan have been traveling since early spring and I think this was a nice break for them…and for me it was just great to get out among people again…I have been sort of stuck here in Greenville…and after this outing I am ready to get out of dodge…(Greenville) going to be checking my finances checking them twice to see what I can do…I would love to be able to go to the IN GTG…but I know there are not enough $$ to get there…I will have to go east and south …IN is out of the way for me…so I got some creative figuring out to do…I am stretching this out so I have something to b log about…so there will be more later…something about a Bigfoot sighting??? thanks for looking and come back soon blessings to all G&M

Getting ready….

Getting ready for ….

A GTG with Liz & Nan at Shenango Campground…they will be there tomorrow and I will go there after my Doc. appointment…below is a early morning pic of a couple fishermen…one in a speed boat getting to his fav. fishing spot and the other in a small boat already at his…click pic you can see better…the sun rise was hid a little by clouds..not quite breaking the horizon yet…

I am really wanting to get away from camp driveway ….but I know it is not going to be the same without my girl….I have some adjustments to make…this is a very nice site on the lake side…but has no hook ups…some time I will come and do one of these when its not so hot…but the shade would help with that…I think my new house battery would hold up longer than the old one I had…this is a very nice CG but is really busy on weekends…I will be in site 318 if anyone is in the neighborhood stop by and see us….be here 4 nights….

For Sherry the lamps my sister got at yard sale…retro cool…they need shades looking on eBay for shades of this era …my daughter got a couple shades on eBay for some retro lamps I had left from my store…the were so cool and after seeing them wish I had them back…lol…what did we use to call someone who did that ,,,?

And my pic of the day …of course is my Maggie girl…at Sparrow Pond CG…check out a bear the the resident chain saw man carved …there were a lot of  his items thru out the CG…

not much else to say right now…hope for better b log info at the GTG…ever how small it is…also want to tell about the windows I am looking for …not looking for the glass…we want the old antique/vintage wood frames she will fill with her stain glass designs….they are really nice and when I get back to Florida will take a pic so you can see them….thanks for looking and come back soon ..blessings to all G&M

this & that….

Not much….

Going on with me right now…on Sat. picked up my sister again and we went to a few yard sales…got a bread maker for $2.50 if I make two loaves of bread it is paid for…my sister got a couple retro 1950’s lamps for $1 each matching pair…the kind you put on an end table really nice… we also stopped at road side vegie stand I got some corn , cukes and tomatoes….pic below is a stop at one of the KOA cg on the way north this spring with Soos …see my sweet baby girl…. I would like to go back to that time when she was with me….

Speaking of yard sale …here is Maggie in my sisters car with me…ready to hit the sales…just me & my girl…she liked going to YS …she was waiting at the door when ever I told her we were going…the pillow in the middle is where she sits when my sis and I go….

Like I said not much happing…today Sunday washed & hung out some bedding…vacuumed the rig…made some cabbage & noodles…I used my steamer to do the cabbage so easy don’t have to watch it…put the timer on and its done…we are finally having summer weather might even get up to 90 the next 2 days…need to mow the grass but have to wait until get sis car back to got get some gas…Liz & Nan have left  Soos and the Adirondacks and are heading my way…not sure when that will be as they have some other stops to make…I will be glad to see them and camp ….well cant think of anything else…my summer is not going the way I thought and hoped it would be….thanks for looking and come back soon…blessings to all G&M

Took a trip to….

Shenango River Lake camp ground…on Thurs. to do the dump deed…it is $10 to dump and $12 with senior pass so this is a no brainer…Below is a pic of an empty site along the lake…I would be there but it is a no hook up site…I need my power…on hot days…took the pic this am on my walk….

And I pic of my site from the back…I have my chair on this side because that is where the shade is…nice little tree/bush to sit and read under…I read awhile then get up and walk around awhile…still have big problem with sitting…

Checked out this path across from my site…it takes you down to the lake….

At the end of the path is the lake ..you can see the cause way across the lake ..that would be RT 18 crossing the lake…there are quite a few play water toy to the left and right of this pic…

And the rest of the story….

It was great getting out of the driveway for even a night…I am going to come here more often…I did not do anything but walk and read….one thing to note about this place is when I looked on line the Reserve America site showed a full up campground…but checking out further ….I found out they have quite a few walk in sites…so that is what I went for..I have a map and picked out a couple and then when I got there I ask about my first choice and it was empty…so that is what I got…it pays to look for walk in sites (most all campgrounds have them ) and call direct to the campground….there were there a lot more available than what showed on line….it would be nice if there were some body here I knew…but it is still great to be here….so this is not the most fun post but I have not much to tell…still missing my Maggie girl…miss our walks…all for now thanks for looking and come back soon …blessings to all …

Some yard sales…

On Sat. morning…..

I picked up my sister ( she lets me keep her car & use it) and we went to a few yard sales…below is a pic of my kind of yard sale…but in reality it was an antique dealer have a “sale” and definitely not yard sale prices…I want to check this one out because they advertised they had old windows…but none were there…I want to find some of the old double hung windows that are in most all old houses in the north…I want a couple to give my neighbor that is keeping an eye on dad…she uses them in stain glass work and they are hard to come by in Florida….I will keep looking….

There were no bar-goons here for me…but I would love to have had something like this to re-furbish in the pic below back in the day…not now because I have no out let for them….

 

And the rest of the story…

I am still grieving my Maggie girl…I know it will get better…but never forgotten…I know I will think about and talk to her everyday for a VERY LONG time…here is a pic of her smelling the flower on a walk at Sparrow Pond CG…our last camping trip together…this was a nice walk with yellow flowers and white daisies along the path…some of what I think are at the Rainbow Bridge….

So that’s about all I have for this post…at least it is a start…RV women friends are coming to visit for a couple days soon…passing thru on way to Indiana to a GTG…so will be camping with them at Shenago CG…ok then thanks for looking and come back soon…blessings to all G&SM = StillMaggie
