MISH-MASH OF STUFF….

When I stepped out…

of the rig the other day…and looked down I saw all this water …it had not rained and when I saw it…scared the heck out of me..I thought for sure something was leaking…Ohh Noooooo!!!! then I looked around and saw it was coming from a drain under the side walk..it was a drain that went up an old alley back in the day to the next street …and if you drain things in your back yard…like a swimming pool it will flow into that drain…and that was what happened…neighbor was draining their pool…Whew…

And this is…
One of the pieces of furniture that I am taking with me…it is a desk that my brother got a couple years ago and ask me to paint it for him..so I painted the color he wanted then sanded the edges and such …and put on some stain and wiped it off to give an antique look…I did that with a lot of furniture that I sold in my store…black being the most popular color…I traded this one out from his estate sale with one that I had for over 45 years…so they had a desk to sell…

Here is a tip….
instead of buying those expensive gardening glove in the garden dept. of any store…go to the sports dept and look in the fishing part…they have these fishing gloves rubber and cloth…they are much better and cheaper…and last forever…

Well it is now 2 days and counting…I think I have just about everything I am taking this trip loaded …all but the last min. stuff..I have some errands to run this afternoon. bank, WM etc…will walk down and get my sisters van and use that one more time…well all for now thanks for looking and come back soon..blessings G&M

LAST YARD SALE FOR THE YEAR???….

WILL IT BE….
the last yard sale for this summer in PA.? My sister and I went on sat morning….to a few yard sales…found some really good deals…but I didn’t buy much…I have to remember I am down sizing…have had a great time with my sis this summer doing the yard sale circuit …even with her hip surg only put us out for the first week…buy the second sat she was ready to go…Got this fellow for my frog garden in FL…he is one of those memory/inspirations boards…made of foam and material…but I am going to spray him with a sealer and see how long he will last was only a buck so I couple years will be ok…love him lol…

This is a box of stuff I got besides Mr. Froggy…a sweet frog welcome garden flag…for same garden…$ 1.00 ..one of those grabber things ..needed for chasing Maggie's toys and balls.. and retrieving keys locked in RV…$1.00…flag lights for RV awning 50 cents…new never opened..

And this Pelonis heater…I have been looking for one since the spring when I returned the one to Home Depot that smelled like burnt plastic when turned on…I have seen 5 at yard sales the last two weekend…finally said…time to get one of these..this one was $4.00 so got it…and the new rug..for 25 cents…

so will this be the last one…??? I am probably leaving Fri. night…going to a local campground so I can dump my tanks then leave from there on Sat morning…so if I get all my stuff done and packed and ready before Fri morning I think we might be able to squeeze a couple in…..how about it..???  Been camping in the street.. and sat night went to bed about 10:30 at about 12:30 some people out walking and talking …woke me up and I never did get back to sleep…hate when that happens…so today Tues…I plan on finishing up all but the very last min. stuff…water is being turned of off on Friday afternoon…elec will stay on…gas already off…need to do last min laundry..son is coming on Thur. to help me with some heavy stuff…so will be busy.. thanks for looking and come back soon…blessings G&M 3 days and counting :):):)

WORKING OUTSIDE….

New neighbor???
Opened the door this morning and look at what I seen…cute  little kitty…never seen him around before this…Maggie did not see him..thank goodness…she wants so bad to get close to kitties…very courioues about them…since she never gets close to one…looks like my yard needs mowed… 

Some work getting done….
They did a very poor job fixing and reseeding the mess made in yards during this constructions of water lines..left stones and roots…put very little grass seed on then covered it all up with a bunch of straw…so I just took off all the straw..raked up the stones and roots and what not…and reseeded it with my grass seed…I will be here to keep it moist so I will not need more straw…so the garbage man took it all away…

Also the other day I cut back the rose bushes…so today I tried to clean up the rest of the area…pulled weeds, grass, and other things not wanted like tiny starts of maple trees…I don’t have a weed eater so I pulled everything out…including the long grass that grew around my rocks…then rearranged them …it really needs mulch… but this late in the season I am going to wait until I get back next year…Why I did not stain the lattece work around the porch is beyond me…but I might be doing that next year also…

This is the front where I also cut back the roses…but that’s all I got done…I might do more here and I might wait until next summer..

So its about 1pm and what am I going to do the rest of the day..oops…forgot to hang out a load of laundry I did….that’s now done…it is so beautiful out there ..it makes me feel so good…good to be alive…I do have more weeds and junk to pull..but I am tired of that for right now…what I want to be doing is …on the road…geocaching, exploring, finding fun places to see …you know all the retirement stuff…but Florida..Dad said last night when I talked to him..it was hot and humid that afternoon that it about knocked him back in the house when he opened the door to get the mail…that I am not looking forward to…well that’s it for now thanks for looking and come back soon…blessings G&M

TAPPING A NEW WATER LINE

Here is how they….
tapped into my new water line…first they dug up the side walk and drive way (again)…don’t mind my garbage can it was the pick up day…I didn’t have to move the RV because they said it would be done in one day…
I took a lot more pics but figured you all pretty bored with all this junk that has been going on all summer…but I am doing this for my info…so moving on..see that copper pipe?…boy was I ever glad to see that…as apposed to galvanized pipe…that means the galvanized was replaced at some point in time…but not since I have owned the house…36 year…a few people have had problems after hook up with the old galvanized pipe after being disturbed clogging up and having to be replaced at the home owners expense!! Not fair I say but water co is not going to pay for it…..so glad I will not have that problem..this copper pipe goes clear to my basement…
As you can see they had to dig thru some sold rock in order to find the new blue water line..The pic below is how they tap into the new line…that already has the water flowing thru it…they attach that valve you see that has a shut off on it ..then drill thru the pipe, shut the valve off while they hook up  the new copper tubing…

Below they have it all hooked up and turned on…they then had me go in and test the water buy turning on all the cold water taps in the house..make sure it worked and get all the air out… I don’t think they did this with everyone but since I was standing there watching all this and asking questions.. they had me do it…I have kept my eye on everything they have done at my house….

And after that was all ok..they filled in the hole…with dirt..not gravel that I thought they might do…after each layer the tamped it down with the back hoe shovel you see on the top right of pic…they worker spread it around first….

Rest of the story….

Personally I found this whole process very interesting…I know I am weird…but I cant help it I have always been very curious …makes me an adventures person..good for the RV life stile…the part that was most interesting was how they push that new blue water pipe thru the earth under the side walks…moving on…I got the add in the paper for the sale…suppose to rain today so will wait until tomorrow to set up tables outside…might go out to the garage and see what needs to be sold from there…lots I am sure…soon I will posting about my travel back to Florida…not sure how many stops I can make to look around and explore…as I will have a few pieces of furniture to take back making for tight quarters in the RV…well all for now thanks for looking and come back soon… 

MORE DECORATING

Did a little more decorating…
While cleaning out the closet in my room at dads…I came across my small collections of vintage embroidered dresser scarfs and table clothes….they were clean so all I had to do was iron them…The one below is a small cloth that you would use on a card table …like back in the day when my mom had her card parties….embroidered with crochet around the edges now lives in MySweetDream.

Also found in the closet…..
This is a throw that I have had for a few years dating back to my store days…a left over that did not sell…It is spring/summer with garden bird house motif. I put one of the vintage embroidered dresser scarfs on the back. It will probably not stay there as Maggie is always bouncing around looking out the window…but the throw  will live on the couch for the spring/summer travel.

Did a little decorating on front porch….
While my sister was here in Jan. we went to some yard sales one Sat. She talked me into buying this fake palm tree….I think it was about 2 $…Thought it would make a cute deco for my RV patio…but I think it will be too heavy to cart around it has a cement base on it. Right now it is on the porch…I also put some fake flowers in the hanging basket.

Food of the day…..
I made a pot roast in the slow cooker the other day for dad….When I did I put in extra beef broth so I could make me some beef vegie soup. He does not like soups….I used the frozen stir fry sugar snap kind at WM for the vegies…makes for a really great soup. Served this lunch in my old Campbell's soup bowl. Not sure if it is vintage..don’t think so. Along with whole wheat roll and my weakness ice cream….lol

Waiting….
I am sitting here being antsy…is that the same as the saying “having ants in your pants” lol…I do a few day trips every week, that I blog about. But that gets hard to blog about because it is the same places all the time. Kinda in-between ….about 8 weeks before I leave..to early to get packing…to early to do rig check ups…most are done oil, over all complete service, just need tires last check …..so I am bouncing around like a lost ball…. I really do live vicariously thru the travels and adventures of others on the Women RV forum I belong to. I so enjoy reading them and what all they do and see. I do follow a bunch of other RV blogs that I enjoy also. All for now thanks for looking and come back soon

MzSAVANA'S BED

Well I have tried 3 times to do this post hope it goes this time. Lot of room in there for RV'ing. Waiting for the bed.

I tried to get these pic's in order but didn't turn out that way. Here is son building the bed. I bought 2x2's for the frame and a couple of 1x4's. Son said only bed he knew of with a $10 frame and a  $150 deck! We used some old walnut tongue an grooved flooring for it.

Finished bed, and below a test fit. Fit just fine. It did not take him long to build it either. We are happy thanks son!!

I had 4 in. memory foam and doubled it so now have 8 in. to sleep on. Very comfy. To cut the foam I used (what else from fishing family) but a electric fish fillet knife. Worked slick.

And here are the two supervisors of the job, dad and Maggie. lol

On my last post Judy ask if I was going to sell my house. At this time no, I will wait and see what the future brings my way and maybe the housing market will be up in the next couple years. But I don't see me living here in PA. Also wanted to know if I am moving to FL permanently. No to that also. Just being there with my dad right now. Still hoping to do some traveling sometime down the road. Thanks for comet's Judy at least I know one person reads my blog! We will be leaving in eight days. I am antsy wanting to get going. WEATHER: Another wonderful day in FL , 75 blue sky and a slight breeze.

Boy will I miss this weather!

This was a neat cache that took me couple times to find it. I thought it was in the bushes but turns out it was on the blue parking bar. As u can see there is a tube attached to a piece of rebar

I think you can figure it out from there.

Yesterday I cleaned the kitchen, bathroom , scrubbed floor etc etc. Took Maggie on a couple of walks and went to WM. This morning dad check a tire that looked low and it was so took it to tire place and have appt. at 1pm . Could not repair tire, and its less than a year old, so took spare and put that on, untill I can get a new one.

March 25

WEATHER Still nice but temps change as I go north.

Drove for 12 hrs today and I was very tired to say the least. Just leaving GA and entering SC there was a big traffic back up. I waited 20 min, seen lot of semi's going along burm and some RV's too, looked and saw a exit so I followed them figured they knew where they were going.

We traveled along side I-95 for about 20 mi and still the back up, finally I lost the semi's along the SC country side but had my maps and GPS so I didn't get lost. Got back on the interstate and was smooth going from there. Started at 6:30am stopped at 6:00pm.

WEATHER BRRRRRRRRRR COLD! WE ARE NOT IN FLORIDA ANY MORE!!!!

March 26

Got on the road about 7:00am stopped for breakfast and a geocache about 9am. Found that one ate and went on. Stopped for another geocache a couple hrs later and there was a cop sitting at GZ so that was a DNF. Had a few other DNF. Got to my daughters about 3:30.

SONIC CACHE & THIS AND THAT

THE CACHE WEATHER: 77 today nice great day!

This was an easy cache Maggie and I found. The hit in the cache log was 12. Didn't take long to find after we got there luckily they were not busy.

Spent most of the morning packing and organizing the back of the truck. Its not going to be as bad as I thought. I like to keep the back some what open when traveling so I can see out, so that was going to be a problem or so I thought, but its working out ok. I have every thing in but what will be last min stuff.

4 PM Maggie and I went caching this afternoon, trying to get in a few more before we leave on Thru. Got 2 out of 2 nice easy ones. I will be posting about them in a later post. Came home went for a walk, fixed supper, now playing here. The next door neighbor is moving an brought me a couple wind chimes she couldn't take to her new condo. Well guess that's all for now, stay tuned and see what tomorro brings
