MONDAY MORNING KAYAKING….

ON MONDAY MORING…
Monday was a beautiful blue sky day…we decided to get the kayak in the water and go for a paddle…This little park is right around the corner from L&S Resort….along with a couple boat launches…ball field, play ground, picnic shelters….all the things these little Florida parks have for having fun…
100_7043
Sandy got the kayak all aired up and we were off …while Sarah sat with the pups under a pavilion…They have a two person kayak…
100_7044
The pix below was on the way from the boat ramp…going into the lake…
100_7045
Just before heading out in the lake..it started to get a little rough….the wind was blow a good clip…and we could see a few white caps on the lake…I was not comfortable going any farther…
100_7054
So we turned around and headed back the way we came and explored the area close to the ramp ..lots of lily pads and grasses that grow in the water…
100_7047
It was pretty calm here but still had to paddle against the wind…I see lots of birds but could not get good pix…not fast enough and not a good camera…
100_7048
Headed back to the ramp…I think after canoeing  with Soos and then kayaking in a two person Kayak…I like and do better in a single person water vessel…
100_7058
Here is Sandy showing me how to deflate and pack up the Sea Eagle…it sure would be easier hauling around rather than  a hard body kayak….

After that…
We went to Crabby Bills ….and that and the rest of the afternoon …will be in the next post thanks for looking and come back soon…

Me using Liz’s kayak…She has this for sale and I almost bought it….but decided it was not for me…my legs are just a tad to long for it…and about my getting a new camera …as you see me sitting here…I have my camera under my chin on the life jacket…so I could grab it fast…well I forgot it was there and went to push myself up in the seat and heard a plunk…luckily it was attached to my water bottle holder …and I grabbed it right up and started shaking the water out of it…clicking it on and off so the lens would go in and out…when I got back I took every thing out and blew it dry…in the morning it was working ok…so no new camera for me…

I miss being at Silver Springs…hope some of us Florida girls can do a few mini GTG’ers before the big one in Jan…I know I am ready…my pocket book might not be yet…guess I will do a few day trips here..see what I can drum up…all for now thanks for looking and come back soon …blessings to all G&M

PART TWO…

The landing…
Here come the first of the weary, wet, and tired cacher’s this was a canoe trio that had a very rough trip…they flip about 4 times…and they were looking a little water logged when they got back…Please click on all the pic…to see better….
013
This is them…click on pic to open and see for your self how wet they are…and the other things was they were so busy trying to stay afloat that they did not get one geocache.!!! It was one wild ride for Sue…
014
And here come a few more…they all said it was a rough ride but the had so very much fun..some would and some wouldn’t do it again…
018
Coming ashore…they all had a ball even those that ended up in the water…
022
The problem with this float was…
It has been raining here for weeks…so the Shenango River is high and running very very fast…so not a good float down a lazy river (which it normally is) looking for and logging geocaches…not to mention the beautiful PA county side along the way…All said and done there were about 20 who did the “float” There are two sections to this cash float this was the first half…total there are 100 geocaches along the river so far…with I think they said were going to do about 50 more that would take them to the Shenango Damn…I don’t know if I will ever have the opportunity to do this float or not…need a kayak first and a partner or partners to do it with…I  know that I would like to …but who knows…Son has been here last 2 days making progress…will finish up new kitchen floor, and another coat of dry wall mud on hole in wall….and hope to get up to the attic…as the garbage goes tomorrow….so all for now thanks for looking and come back soon

NEAT KAYAK & SOMETHINGS…

One of our day camps…
This is one of our favorite day camp sites over at Wickham…I was walking back to the park from the campground and see MySweetDream…sitting there waiting for us to come back….looking good  across the pond we parked by.
2013-04-13_13-58-37_752
This is a very neat kayak ….
This is a crazy kayak that I saw at the home park last weekend…a man and his two sons were going out fishing…the black rig looking thing is some kind of fishing rig filled with fishing equipment …it is to large for the kayak..so it looks like he put a couple floats on each side of the kayak to keep it sturdy and up right….right click to make larger..he has one son in kayak with him….
041413084402
And the other son…older ….
even tho he was the older of the two…they still were not old enough to be out alone…so the father tethered the older boys kayak to his…right click and you can see…the older boy did a good job with the paddles so he was never being pulled along by the other kayak…
041413084511
And Maggie girl….
And here is my Maggie girl playing with her new bunny…she got it for Easter….I have never seen a dog that plays with toys like she does….from the very first day I got her…she knew that the couple toys by her bed were hers and she knew what to do with them..she taught me how to play doggie games…lol…she was only 8 weeks old…she was playing while I am working in the RV..
012
Where oh where is bell???
Wondering where is bell…hope she did not take any “party” detours along the way…here are a few friends waiting on her arrival…Where are youuuuuu????
006
I am still working on packing and arranging and rearranging the RV…taking things out and putting things in…I was going to take along things to make …but then decided this is a work trip for me…so took that stuff out..most of it anyway…I am excited and nervous at the same time…my first long solo trip…I think I will be stopping at WM, Sam's, Cracker Barrel etc.… for over nights…I need all my $$ for gas!!! It is getting warm (hot to me) and muggy so I am  looking forward to some cool northern weather….  all for now thanks for looking and come back soon.

WEEKEND IN THE PARK

It started with sun rise service…
I went down to the home park for the Easter sunrise service, left at 6 am so I could get a parking place for the day. On holidays and weekend if you don’t get there early you will not get a good spot. Especially with a motor home or boat.  It was a very nice service..at first rise the sun was behind clouds but soon appeared.
005
Find your spot early…
When I got there at 6am..there were two guys at this pavilion…for this large group that showed up later….

018
Here are a couple more …everyone of them had people holding down the fort before 6am.
017
And then some had to make their own pavilion using palm trees…their own tables and chairs.
015
These people across from me…(sometimes this is my home spot for the day) used a bench and the live oak tree.
019
Parked in…
Around noon parking spots were running out…some peeps came and set up their spot beside me under the live oak tree out my front door…but had no place to park…so I told them they could park in front of MySweetDream. Here she is parked in with two cars in front.
010
My weekend started …
My Easter weekend started at 6am going to the park to get my parking spot for the day. At about 7:15 there was a sunrise service put on by a local church. Then went had breakfast that I brought with me…took Maggie girl for a walk…read book ….people and boat watched…kayaks, paddle boards etc… then walked up and fixed dinner for dad and me…went back to the park and did the same in the after noon…I met a lady painting the eau gallie river ..I will post about her on my art/craft blog…
that’s it for now thanks for looking come back soon

KAYAKING WITH THE GATORS

FIRST KAYAK TRIP HILLSBOROUGH ST. PARK
IMG_0212Kayaking with the gators and I am not talking about the football team!! So on Tues. I went on my first kayak trip. Liz(one of the Women RV girls) is a pro at this and she took me out and showed me the ropes… (or should I say the paddles) and the alligators!! I am using Tina’s(another RV girl) Sea Eagle Kayak. It is the small size and can seat two people. I love, love, kayaking but this one was a little large and hard and trying for me to handle. This is a pic of me on the Hillsborough River. Look at that still water…click on the pic to enlarge.
IMG_0218We had not gone very far and this slid into the water about 50ft in front of us!!!! Let me tell you I was scared, but held my own! Winking smileHa….Liz was cool as a cucumber ….we will just wait for a while until he gets across…all the while snapping pic’s like this is an every day happening!! YIKES! So he finally got to the sun on the other side of the river and we past by…with me watching over my shoulder the whole time….I did not take a camera because I know it would have ended up in the river. Liz took all the pic’s. This is such a fun and relaxing (with out the gators that is) I could not believe I was acutely doing it. I have wanted to for soooo long! And I love it…I see a kayak in my future.  I have more to post on my second day out on the river..but we just got home a little while ago and I am tired. I have more to share about the camping trip also. So that’s it for now thanks for looking and come back soon
