One of the days while at Trimble CG…..
We headed off for a day trip to Mount Dora…My RV friend Margie her Annie & me & Pheebe had mini GTG at Trimble Park a county park with a CG…
Toot Tood …getting ready to pull out…
The Orange Blossom Cannonball is a tourist railroad company operation excursions.. trains run on a track owned by the Florida Central Railroad…we went from Mt. Dora to Tavares…
We journeyed back to the days of yesteryear and the Movies of the Old West…A 1 hr. & 45min round trip…features a 1907 wood burning steam engine & old wood cars that have been used in in movies like 3:10 to Yuma and True Grit…Appaloosa over 20 in all…Traveling in vintage coaches that many movie stars such as Robert Redford..Johnny Cash…George Cloone once preformed in…
Marggie & Annie with Pheebe’s cute little butt..
Margie & Annie waiting for our ride to start…these railroad cars are all wood and you get the true idea of what the clickty – clack of the railroad means and sounds like….Cool Beans..
Me & Pheebe waiting to roll also…this ride was a litte on the pricey side but i never do things like this so I went for it…needing some fun in my life….One thing i like about Mt. Dora it was very dog friendly….
We went to lunch ….
after our train ride…at “Lets Do Lunch”…small clean light open atmosphere with a small menu..this was a new restaurant in town with great food even with the small menu…
Margie enjoying her lobster roll…i had a ruben this time we were having lunch…Margie said it was one of the best she has ever had…my ruben was fantastic also….i did not get the lobster roll because never having one i want to make sure i had a good one…the lobster that i have had i did not like…
We so enjoyed our lunch at “Lets Do Lunch” that we went back the next day…That is when i had my lobster roll because Margie told me it was good for my first one …pic below…i loved it so much i will be eating more of them…Margie told me to always ask what kind of roll they use and if it is a hot dog bun dont get it…
Pheebe girl waiting patiently looking out the window for her first train ride…she was such a good girl the whole day long…you would never know she has some “issues” lol….
And the rest of the story….
About my blogging or the lack of….I really like to write on my blog…not sure many read it..but i guess it is mostly for me…when in my “old age” comes around i can sit back and read about all the things i have done…i think there is only one person in my family that reads it my DIL…she use to anyway…maybe my GGG …grand kids will get a kick out of the escapades of their Grammy…but then again some one will have to preserve it…i read somewhere you can have a book made of your blog (hint hint)…like i said like writingit just need to get going doing it more often…todays blog is the first about our trip to Mt. Dora… more to come about this GTG..and i have some other minin GTG like our trip to Sebastian Inlet State Park…and some time i will write about my motor home…right now i am trying to work a deal to trade it so that will be a post all by itself…been taking my dad to a bunch of doc appointments he is failing by the month…in March i got my cataracts taken care of …and i am sooooooo happy that i can see again…in fact they must have been bad for a very long time because i didnt know how bright and colorful things are..like looking thru dirty tea stained glass then it got whiped clean so clean you cant see the glass just all the bright light…very happy ..this is my first summer in Florida…and i am not a happy camper…and Pheebe is not happy….she has a lot and i mean a lot of energy and not being able to be out and about during the day makes her very restless at night keeping me awake…never had day after day after day of relentless smack you in the face heat….all i will say about that now but i am sure i will have more whineing about it again…well all for now thanks for looking and come back soon….blessings GM&P
Good post. You need to write more of them...memories.
ReplyDeleteYou are correct we do write these posts mostly for our own means of being able to recall things we've done and to share with anyone that might be interested. Yes you definitely need to write more often.
ReplyDeleteWhy we don't notice how many actually stop to read is because of Time. Few leave comments because we suddenly are busy and just read but leave the site without leaving a comment which is the ultimate compliment.
What's most important is to remember there are people for whatever reason who can only wish they could do everyday things like you or I. So Enjoy life while you can and don't be scared to share those memories. Good Luck on the new rig.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
I can relate to the cataract surgery. Colors are so much brighter. Haven't been blogging much either but hoping that will change when the weather gets cooler and I am on the road again.
