D O POT LUCK…

I know I have been ….

some what lax in posting…well maybe a lot lax….I hope to do better …dont we all…I have more about HL…Dave gave a demo on Dutch Oven cooking using coals…below Nan & Patsy are making corn bread & mixing up a cake mix for pineapple upside down cake…

In the mean time Dave was working on his trukey pot pie…below is a pic…doing a little different thing,..he did not use your typical pie crust dought..he is going to use the corn bread that Nan is mixing up…

And when all was ready …you can see he then poured the corn bread over the pot of boiling vegies & turkey….

And after setting it on coals he put the lid on and added coals to that..it cooked for about an hr…below is the finished pot pie…and believe me it was delish !

Below is a pic of the pineapple upside down cake..with cherries and all…my my was it good…he did use a round parchment paper to line the DO with on the cake…easier clean up…after it was all done we took it to my “social area” behind my rig with the campfire  and had a pot luck supper…we did a lot of good eating at that GTG…

I have a lot to up date about…I guess maybe the most imporant is the news that we closed on my PA house last Thurs. its been a long time coming…i am happy that it is all over but not as elated as i thought i would be…so i guess i am now “homeless” ? LOL…Dont know what i would do with out the help of my son …to finish up getting everything out…it was mostly empty but had garage and shed stuff to dispose of…well it is done now…now to move on…it looks like my dads health will keep me from going to PA to visit family & friends this summer…I am not sure how i will cope with the heat of summer in Florida…well all for now…thanks for looking and come back soon …blessings GM&P…

SOME THINGS…& Wales…

It is a bitter cold…

Sunday morning here in camp driveway…i have been here for some chilly…cool…and cold weather but today it has got to me…usually it doesn’t bother me much…i think it is the bitter cold wind…and i thought it was cold at HL the day this pic was take…brrrrr…

Looks a lot like one is camping in the north country…

One night as one of my fantastic fires burned down…we made some S’mores…i got to use my new had crafted weenie stick…Nan and i bloth got one at the festival we went to last summer…first S’mores i have had in 30 years…

Don’t have to many interesting pic right now as i am not doing much..below is a pic of an antique store that we went to one afternoon  at HL…we were looking for a thrift shop but we waited to long to leave and it was closed..so this was right there and open so in we went…was a very nice store…lot of vintage is what i like….

RV friend Tina checking out some things that caught her eye…some of us left with a treasure and some left with our $$ intact…like me …i am trying not to buy much as i just finished up my down sizing …and the only home i have now is on wheels and does not hold much….

I am trying to get on a healthy eating diet…not so much a diet but changing my eating habits to healthy…i was doing great after my diagnosis from my neurologist..i even lost 10 lbs….but over the holidays i slipped up somewhat…now having a hard time getting back in to the right way to eat…one think i found out about myslef is that after lowering my meat intake…just some chicken & fish now …i think i need more protien…so was eating protien bars…but did not like other stuff that was in it…so found a recipe on line that i liked and now tweaking it and making it my own…not making bars but rounds…still want to do more tweaking but they are good…

heard on the news tonight…there is a mama Right whale and calf at the Sebastian Inlet  about 30 miles south of here…along the indian river lagoon…all boats are restricted and all boats coming in from the Atlantic are escorted around the whales….the Inlet is now closed…they are hoping that they will go back out to the ocean at the next high tide…also a Right whale was spotted at Satelite Beach about 8 miles north of here…i think i remember the Wrights from last year migrating thru here…they are an endangered species with only a few hundred left…thinking i might go over to the beach and hang out with Pheebe see if we can see any…

Up date…well we did not make it over to the beach yet….but i could kick myslef for not jumping in dads car and heading down to the Inlet…i guess they did head on out to the atlantic …

WESH news tonight.... mama and baby Right Whales... Sebastian Inlet are back out into the Atlantic ....they had some spectacular film from their helicopter... I thought they were migrating through this area but according to WESH they come to the Brevard County camp drive way is in Brevard… and Volusia County area to have their babies... I really should have jumped in the car and took myself down there because there was a lot of people down there watching and taking pictures they said they got some of the best pictures of Right Whales ever taken... here's the picture I snapped on the TV not the best but its all I got...this post was made on several different days so the time line might be a little off…thats it for now …thanks for looking and come back soon…blessings GM&P

WILD BIRDS IN THE CITY…

Not much going…

on around here…just running dad around and a few errands for myself…went to the church on Wed. to work on stuff for the bazar in Nov..some birds below at the home park the other day…ibis has a fish ready to eat…great blue heron …looking for breakfast…

I thought this was a good pic of all these birds in one spot at the same time…even tho this is a park it is still birds in the wild…ibis…wood stork…great blue heron..little blue heron …egret…pretty cool…i had to do some fancy moving to get them all at the same time in the pic…

this was a muted sun rise pic the other day…a great blue heron looking again for breakfast…and if you click and enlarge the pic you will see pelicans and other birds flying around diving for there breakfast also…some are floating on the water diving too….there were 3 dolphin out there that day…i think there must have been a bunch of mullet they were feeding on…

Seen this guy too but could not fit him in the pic with the rest….flapping his wings drying  off…

This pelican was not in the pic with all the others…i seen the pelicans flying out over the water …this guy was at the beach one day i was there…

It has been a cool rainy winter so far…the rainy season is usually in the summer…so i hate to see what that will be like this year…i got an appointment with eye doc to get cataracts check …hoping they are ready to remove… not sure how i will work that as dad doesn’t drive…get a taxi i guess…i got a real mess in the hood of my rig…the paint is pealing off in big chunks…i will do a post about it sometime…makes me upset thinking about it…and now about Pheebe….what can i say…sometimes i can see break thru …but most not…when we got back to the neighborhood after our camping trip (where she was so good) she went right back to her hysterical ways…i cant find words other than that to discribe it…i tried the benadryl again but it didnt seem to work…i am going to try it again…it is hard to give it to her and maybe she didnt get enough…sometimes she gets like a wet wiggley noodle..with her longs legs hard to control her…even getting her leash on she gets so excited jumping & wiggling around more than any dog i ever seen…that is how she got the clip on the leash clipped to her upper  eye lid…puppy mode ??? i dont know but she is a very loving and snuggly girl and very smart…she has a sweater she has been waring alot because of the cold weather…she even likes to keep it on at bed time…i know she wants it on by the way she acts when i want to take it off..anyway she woke up the other morning with out it on…i looked all over the bed kept saying were is your sweater…i turned to look on the floor aand when i turned back to the bed there she was sitting with it in her mouth…she looked so funny…but she knew what i was looking for…well its pretty boring here…but we will be going back to Hardee Lakes aweek from this Friday looks like there will be at least 7 of us so its another GTG…RV tech is going to look at my roof again ….and something wrong with antena so i think i am getting a King Jack antena put on..i hear good things about them…i miss my TV…well storms are coming thru soon…most of the evening so guess i am done for now…thanks for looking and come back soon …blessings  GM&P
