FLOWERS AND A DOG

When we stopped at my daughters in the way to PA, she said a could pick some of her hydrangeas to take with me. Look at the multitude of colors she has growing. The one in the middle is pale yellow and light blue.
These are a little larger than the other ones, these are a little older bush. I wanted to dry them but I found out you have to pick them later towards fall when the color fades some. Oh well I sure am enjoying these right now.

And here is some lavender that came from a bush that I have had since the 1970's. I don't think they are suppose to live that long. I use to get about 25-30 of these bunches each year, and when I had my store I would sell them. This is the only bunch I got this year. Lavender needs full sun all day and there is a tree that is shading it a bit and I think that is the problem. I laid it by my pink knock out roses to take this pic. Nature sure is beautiful !!
And here is Maggie girl , keeping watch over her territory. And boy does she do a good  job. I put out my bird feeder and now she has a chipmunk, squirrels, and birds to keep at bay.

Since I have been home, getting a lot done. First thing I did was spruce up the yard and front porch, got out lawn chairs etc, and pulled weeds. No rain so grass is not growing much, good thing because I need to get a new lawn mower. Last Friday was my birthday, and went fishing with my son all day. I will post about that adventure next time. Yesterday I stared in the guest bedroom and scrubbed all the wood work, to start painting it on Wed. This afternoon going to my son's for a cook out. Well all for now thanks for looking and come back soon

THINGS IN WINCHESTER

While we are here at my daughters Maggie and I camped in their travel trailer. Same as last year. I could get use to that camping real easy :) Maggie did not seem to mind either.
Here she is....cutie pie sweet hart that she is !!! Daughter has a house full with wedding stuff happening , so we said we'll stay in the camper.
Yesterday we went over to the park area. This spot was located at the Shenandoah College.
A few years ago this little stream was a lot bigger and they held The All American Duck Race here. It was a lot of fun. You bought a little yellow duck for $5.00. Then they dumped in at the start and the first one across the finish line ..won a brand new car...I don't remember what kind but it was but it was a big deal...and I did not win it ..lol..

Today we are going shopping I need a dress for the wedding. We looked a little yesterday no luck, need shoes also and that will be a problem I think. All for now thanks for looking come back soon

TRIP UPDATE

Here is Maggie giving me the harry eye. I woke her up lol. She really is a good little traveler. Most of the time she would lay in her new fluffy bed between the seats.

MONDAY: we finally left around 10:30 am. Had to wait for ins. co. to call. Had some mischievous mischief done to my new van!!! Sun. afternoon someone shot the windshield with bb gun or pellet gun and I have 4 chips in the windshield. I could not believe it. Police said they would make a report but not likely they would find who did it. So we got started on our way dove 300 miles on Monday and stayed at a Motel 6 that night because of bad storms in the area. It seemed liked they followed me the whole way. Ate food that I brought with me. Richmondhill GA. first stop. Next stop Mayberry Campground in Mt.Airy NC.

,TUESDAY: Got up early and took a short walk around, we are used to walking a mile and half at 6:30 each day. Packed up and were off. Stopped at McD's for oatmeal a couple hrs into our travel day. Drove 382 miles to get here.

WED: Up early took a walked around the loops of the campground. Mayberry Campground. ;Left about 6:30 Got to my daughters about 1:00 pm. Drove 298. Had a great weather day today, all in all
was a good trip, van did good job. All for now thanks for looking and come back soon.

HEADED NORTH !!!

New wheels! Got this GMC Savana on Friday. Was suppose to leave last Monday. But life things interrupted that plan. So finally I got a late start this morning. I wanted to stay at camp grounds on the way up but bad storms done that plan in and made for a short driving day. Maggie did good riding in our new to us van, No bench seat so she had to adjust to not sitting right next to me with her head on my leg. She did real good in her new plush bed on the floor between the seats. Maybe if the weather is good tomorrow we will be camping. Hope so. All for now thanks for looking and come back soon.

HAD A BAD MORING ....... :(

This happened yesterday morning. Looks like it will be a total loss do to the age of the truck. 2001 Now I have to look for a van. This puts my trip to PA off a little while...  No one got hurt.

Thought I would show you my new way of collecting shells. I use this sand crab scoop. I got it at a rummage sale for 2.00. I found a few at yard sales for 25.00. They have them at WM for about the same. They use them for getting the sand crabs on the beach, used as bait. I just scoop up the shells and take them over to the waves and that washes the sand out of them. So much easier than bending over and picking them up. Well that's it for now thanks for looking and come back soon.
